Halloween Yarn Garland

I love sharing easy DIYs to decorate your home for any holiday and this Halloween Yarn Garland is a simple and inexpensive one to make. Not to mention the kiddos love it!

Materials you will need:
Yarn: Orange, Black, White (I used off white)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Pipe cleaners: Black and green
Felt: Green (dark and light), black
Fishing line
Jute cord

There are two methods you can use to make these.

Method 1

Method 1 is great to make the ghosts.

Wrap yarn around the seatback of chair about 35-40 times.

Clear hair-ties
Picture
Remove from the back of chair and cut both ends.

Wrap top of yarn with clear rubber band to make a head.
Picture
Cut each long section in half. You will now have 4 smaller sections.

Tie off each of the 4 sections of yarn in the middle with a clear rubber band.

Method 2

Pumpkin and spiders Wrap yarn around your hand to make one at a time.

Wrap yarn around your hand approximately 45 times.

Trim the ends to give the pumpkin a round, full look.

Remove yarn from around fingers and secure in palm of hand.
Picture
Add felt pieces  to make leaves and curl green pipe cleaners. Attach with hot glue.

Tie in middle with clear rubber band.

Cut open the loops.
Repeat pumpkin steps to make the spiders, no leaves here, but use black pipe cleaners to make the legs. Attach legs to the bottom of the yarn with hot glue and cover with a round piece of black felt to keep the legs secure.

To string the yarn pumpkin, spiders and ghost on the jute cord tie a pieces of fishing line through the yarn and tie a knot making a large loop so they can hang on the cord.
